Our favourite walking routes

With two energetic spaniels by our side, we're always on the lookout for new and exciting walking routes.

We love exploring different areas and sharing our experiences, so we've put together a collection of some of our favourite walks. We use AllTrails to plan our adventures, so you'll find a link to each route for more detailed information, along with our own personal insights and tips based on our time on the trail.

The Lake District, a mountainous region in Northwest England, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and their four-legged friends. With its stunning scenery of glacial lakes, rugged fells, and picturesque villages, there's plenty to explore with your dog.

The Peak District is known for its dog-friendly pubs and cafes, providing welcoming pit stops after a long walk. While some areas may have restrictions in place (particularly during lambing season or in areas with ground-nesting birds), much of the park is open to dogs

North Wales, with its dramatic coastline, rugged mountains, and lush valleys, is a truly spectacular place to explore with your dog. North Wales is generally very dog-friendly, with many pubs and cafes welcoming four-legged visitors. While some specific areas, like certain sections of the coastal path or nature reserves, might have restrictions, particularly during breeding seasons, the vast majority of North Wales is open for canine adventures.

Our local stomping ground! Cheshire, with its rolling countryside, historic towns, and canalside paths, offers a gentler landscape perfect for exploring with your dog. Many pubs and cafes welcome dogs, making it easy to find a place to relax after a walk. While some areas may have restrictions, particularly around livestock, much of Cheshire is dog-friendly, offering a pleasant and accessible destination for you and your canine companion.

The Cotswolds, a region of gently rolling hills dotted with charming villages built from honey-colored stone, offers a picturesque backdrop for walks with your dog. Explore the network of footpaths that crisscross the countryside, taking in stunning views and discovering hidden gems along the way. We found The Cotswolds to be very dog friendly indeed, we saw more dogs than people (yay!).

Northumberland, with its dramatic coastline, rolling hills, and vast open spaces, is a fantastic place to explore with your dog. From the iconic Hadrian's Wall to the stunning beaches of the Northumberland coast, there's a huge variety of walks to suit all abilities. Imagine your dog running free on wide sandy beaches or exploring the ruins of ancient castles.
